Disney Reimagine Tomorrow

The team at Neon Butterfly was on a mission to bring Disney’s commitment to DE&I to life in a way that was worthy of the Disney name and standard. ‘Reimagine Tomorrow’ was a global initiative inclusive of a new digital platform, as well as a marketing campaign focused on amplifying underrepresented voices and untold stories.

I was tasked to create an illustration to represent AAPI Heritage month. The illustration was used in marketing materials across channels such as Hulu, FX, ESPN, National Geographic and more.


Concept


Execution

The process started with various sketches and layouts- I wanted to show the full vibrance of the many Asian cultures spread across the globe. Some of these sketches involved the sharing of culture through food or through community.

After various stages of feedback from the art director and team, we decided to move in a direction that more closely related to the tagline ‘rising together’. The use of the wave lifting up various flowers represented the diverse AAPI community and worked well with different marketing asset materials.
